We are lucky to have cousin Mason stay with us this week – he was so brave and came down with Aunty Filipa without his Mum & Dad!!!!
It has been so much fun…he is a great help and keeps the children thoroughly entertained.
When Mason arrived he had a very wobbly tooth and tonight the little thing fell right out!
He was a bit worried about how the tooth fairy would find him down here (he lost his first tooth at home a couple of weeks ago) so we wrote the tooth fairy a letter and I assured him that I would give her a call when he went to bed and let her know where he was!!!
Now…do I send the tooth home to his parents or throw it in the bin?!!
I’m off to COLOUR IN a tooth fairy certificate because apparently that is what the tooth fairy did LAST TIME – thanks Carli!!! 😉

Yesterday at precisely 4:48pm I posted you a present from Tasmania.
This morning at 7:05am it arrived at your doorstep in Sydney. Talk about the awesomeness of Express Post! I didn’t have time to send a note (hence reaching the post office 12 minutes before close time!) but this is what it would have said:
“Dear Baby Micah,
I made you this blanket so that you would quickly learn to Eat. Play. Sleep. Repeat. None of this fussing around business that I have been hearing about.
And those bibs are made out of left-over material from the quilt that Gramma is making for you so that you can be all matchy-matchy and cool.
I love you little man who I haven’t even got to cuddle yet.
Love, Aunty Toni xxx”
(Reply from Micah here).
I wish I could say that I made up this design myself because I love it. But I didn’t. I got the free tutorial from here. It wasn’t tricky to make at all. All of that zig-zagging around the letters took a bit of time, but other than that it was a breeze.
This was my first time using chenille as a backing on a quilt too. I didn’t bother putting any wadding between the quilt top and the chenille because I wanted it to be lightweight enough that Micah can be wrapped in it for sleeping. Besides the horrendous shedding of fluff, the chenille was great. I think I have found a new favourite way to back baby quilts!
For the bibs, I joined three big strips of left-over fabric together and then used the bib template out of my Bambino pattern to cut out the bib shape. I think this is also going to be a new baby favourite of mine and a great way to use up scraps (and we all know how much I love a good scrap project!)
Tommy was gracious enough to be a bib model for me one morning before breakfast. I paid him by letting him choose one bib to keep 🙂

Here’s how I made the chocolate pizza for Jaron’s birthday…you could make lots of changes to this by adding different fruit, chocolates, etc. I want to try and caramelise some nuts and sprinkle those over next time. Yum!!!
Cook pizza base in oven. Melt chocolates together and spread over base. Sprinkle with halved marshmallows. Place in moderate oven for about 5 minutes or until marshmallows begin to melt and are lightly toasted. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with fruit and M&Ms. Serve immediately!
These photos were taken before Lil’s bike accident. (I wish she healed this quickly!) Her face is lovely and scabby now, although looking a little better every day. Good old Pawpaw Ointment has been doing the trick I think!
Hopefully all of this hat making will encourage the sun, which has started to hide it’s cheerful face to stick around for a bit longer 🙂
