Could someone PLEASE give me a whole day free of commitments, work, children (though, I do love them) and everything else so that I could spend my time making this Easter Basket? I love it, but it looks so time consuming!
Make It Perfect
The camera is still a few weeks away. I have a page long of things I need to take photos of and blog about when it comes back…can’t wait!
So, digging through the iPhoto library…this is 12 months ago:
How absolutely cutesky are they? And how did they get so big in 1 year?!
The last week has found us:
** Finishing up and posting out two more upcoming magazine projects.
** Some exciting and nerve-wracking phonecalls and email followed up by lots of hard thinking and decision making.
** Lil turning into a tantrum-thrower.
** Twice a week playgroup saving our sanity.
** Making a booking to have a Body Shop At Home party (I love The Body Shop!)
** Becoming friendly with Ebay after not having anything to do with it for a year or so.
** Oscar exploring Duplo and coming up with some amazing creations (hence, the Ebay connection – do you have any idea how expensive Duplo is? We really should have bought Mega Blocks!)
** Oscar deciding to catch a bout of gastro – lucky for us it was only him and only lasted 3 hours early Sunday morning and he was bright and chirpy the next day. Still no fun changing sheets, pyjamas and trying to explain why we spew to a 3 year old in the middle of the night though!
** Searching the Crafty Crow archives for simple activities to do with Oscar during Lil’s nap time. Do you think paper mache over a balloon is a little too ambitious?
** Finishing my new couch cushions – they look GREAT!
I am excited about:
** Fun weekend projects Jaron and I have planned to give the kids bedroom a facelift – providing the weather is nice. Will definitley be borrowing a camera to take pics of that.
** Getting my camera back.
** The future.
Being in maternity mode again has me on the hunt for some decent clothes to wear for the next few months…there are some super cool Etsy stores selling fun maternity tees. If only the Australian dollar were a bit stronger I wouldn’t have to think so hard about making a purchase…
Finally getting around to stealing photos of Carli’s blog to show the cushions and quilt I made for her new couch in her new house.
Zippers and all! I don’t know why zippers have intimidated me in the past…they weren’t hard at all though.
We decided to go with a single print either side so the cushions could be reversible. I was very impressed with the fabric Carli choose. Bright and fresh, but not too overpowering.
I’m very jealous though that her cushions were finished in just a few hours and are already adorning her couch whilst mine are still a work in progress. I’m really starting to regret my decision to HAND-QUILT every cushion, front and back so that the fabric is a bit stronger…it is taking me FOREVER!
After not having much experience using home decorator weight fabric before, this project has won me over. It is not too thick, not too thin…holds it’s shape really well and makes for a lovely, heavy feeling quilt.
For more cushion and quilt pics see Carli’s post here.
I’ve been having a bit of a tidy up and update with all things Make It Perfect related ready for an exciting change to take place very soon…more about that as the time draws near.
For now, here’s a look at the new cover photos for Bloom and Bambino, courtesy of Eden Lane Photography.
Sorry about the quietness of the blog lately…I have a HUGE long list of “things to blog about when the camera comes back” – its just not the same without an accompanying photo! I’ll try to be more creative in the meantime because no one likes a boring blog 🙂
