Edit post note:: before people want to start booking photography sessions with me I probably should clarify that the last few photos in this post (i.e. the good ones) were not taken by me…we got a photographer (can’t remember his name, sorry!) to take them for us.

Make It Perfect
Things seem to have gotten a little out of control with the blog of late. Its all a matter of time, my friends, with lots to do and market creeping up on me (1 week away to be exact!) I have had to take a break from anything blog-related. We did have a nice stay in Sydney, exactly what we needed to refresh and relax ourselves. Then when we came home our internet was down for almost a week anyway so no way I could have done anything internet related anyway! The break from it all technology was lovely.
Market is on schedule – I am TIRED of thinking about it and all of the preparation and can’t wait for it to be OVER now! Such relief today when I sent boxes and parcels with the courier to deliver to Melbourne – now fingers are crossed that they actually turn up or it is going to be one sorry looking booth indeed!! It was cold when we came home from delivering so we put on our trackies and had a cosy afternoon in. I finished the Twilight series – good, easy read. Now all I have to do is put a few more catalogues together (a few more means 100+!) and sew up a few more samples and we are ready to go!
So, I will attempt to get the blog posts under control and up to date…I have an issue with chronological order so sorry for the back-dating when I get around to it!!
Sharing another new pattern tonight…this is one of my favourites ever. I love it because it is not gender-exclusive and includes sizes to fit the whole family. It looks tricky but is really easy…great to sew up for a quick gift (most of my Christmas presents this year will be Lazy Day Hats) and it is reversible! Definitely a pattern worth having in your collection.

Once again, not available to purchase until November at Quilt Market.I have lots to blog about but have left my camera at Mum’s house so no photos to share until tomorrow. We leave on Tuesday so tomorrow will be devoted to cleaning the house, sorting stuff and packing. I’m not much of a last minute packer (or last minute anything really). Packing for me usually involves the initial pack and then realising that I don’t actually need to take the kitchen sink so a bit of unpacking, debating on whether we are really going to use it and then the final put everything in the suitcase and zip it up so the kids can’t pull everything out! Then writing a long list of things to do on Tuesday morning before we leave and last minute things to pack! Oh fun, we are really really looking forward to taking a break though and can’t wait to be able to chill out for a bit and spend some family fun time together!!
In the quest to make the Make It Perfect booth for Quilt Market look unique and interesting, I knew that I had to find some kind of table covering to place over the large table we are going to be supplied with. After a bit of thinking, hunting and researching I tracked down this very cool girl – Julie – and she went to tremendous efforts to hand carve me a lino block print of my little bird! You have got to check out her Etsy store…she prints the most delightful images onto cloth napkins, notebooks, cards, sticky labels and more.
I was so impressed with how my bird turned out…I have had the stamp for months and only yesterday did I get around to stamping and hemming my tablecloth. I am really happy with the finished result and know that it is going to look great adorning the table…

Is this the cutest thing ever or what?! Lil’s first little ponytail. The mullet look is getting out of control and I was really surprised to find that she had enough hair on top to make something out of!

I used some of Heather Bailey’s Trash Ties to put up the do and didn’t think they would hold it in place, but they are actually really good. When I figure out how to do some creations in my hair I will share, but you might be waiting awhile given my track record with creative hair styling!!
