This little girl is up to some new tricks!!
Still gaining her confidence and very shaky, but she has a go at taking steps on her own all the time and gets so excited when she manages to take some, stopping to give herself a big clap and giggle! She turned 11 months old yesterday.
And I know I’ve already made a big deal about my obsession for Bircher Muesli for breakfast…but really, how could I eat this without taking a photo about it for the blog first! I really, really love it. Especially with fresh berries on top. Mmmm, so good. And the best part is that it fills me up until lunch time so I’m not craving naughty snacks at 10am! You really have to try it if you haven’t already, one batch makes enough for four meals. It keeps fine in the fridge for the four days it takes me to eat it too. And so cheap and much better for you than other cereals. I had mine with Jalna yoghurt today, my favourite yoghurt. I’m not into the more commercial brands of yoghurt, they taste like lots of artificial sweetner and fake flavours to me. I love the more natural yoghurt flavours like Jalna or Tamar Valley.
Make It Perfect

Butter Chicken
1.5kg chicken thigh fillets, halved
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tsp garam masala
2 tsp ground coriander
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 cup natural yoghurt
80g butter, chopped
2 Tbs white vinegar
2 Tbs tomato paste
410g can tomato puree
3/4 cup chicken stock
1 tsp cardamom
1 tsp cinnamon
300ml cream
1/3 cup chopped fresh coriander
Combine chicken, garlic, spices and yoghurt in large bowl. Cover, refrigerate 3 hours or overnight.
Melt butter in large saucepan; cook chicken mixture, stirring, about 10 minutes or until chicken browns lightly.
Add vinegar, paste, puree, stock cardamom and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
Add cream, stir until heated through. Stir in coriander.
Yesterday I went to the shops to buy Lil a new pair of tights. Her current pair were plain white and newborn size – yes, she is 11 months in a few days…they just kept stretching!!
I went in with the “stick with the white, they go with everything” mindset, but when I saw these ones, they had my name written all over them…
So, needless to say, they were purchased…along with a plain white pair for good measure!
Then when the kids were in bed last night, I had an urge for a quick sew and decided I could whip up a little skirt to match for her to wear to church today.
It was a breeze to make…I joined 6″ squares together to make the front and back of the skirt, hemmed it and sewed an elastic waistband at the top.
Cute girl, cute tights, cute skirt!
P.S. I could write up a tutorial for my blog if you want the skirt-making instructions…let me know!
Wow! These patterns have been a loooong time in the making, so tonight I am both excited and relieved to be able to share them with you 🙂
Are you ready?…
The first brand new pattern is called “Flipsy”
Flipsy was designed with busy sewers in mind…Mums, people who work, people who love to sew but don’t want to spend forever creating something. A very satisfying to sew and you will be sure to get lots of compliments on the finished product! The best part about Flipsy is that after your little sewing spree you won’t just have one cute skirt…you will have two!
Great for a quick flip when one side is dirty or she’s just had enough of it! Flipsy has some cute
detail too, belt loops, lots of buttons and a cool tie at the waist to dress up an otherwise ordinary looking waistband. Flipsy also includes a pattern for a choice of two different applique designs to pop onto a top for a complete outfit!
Find out more about Flipsy on the website, lots of extra pics in the slide show gallery at the bottom of the page too.
The second pattern release is called “Fancy Pants”
With winter setting in, we needed something to be worn with the Pinny and Pinny #2 patterns to make them a year-round dress. Solution…Fancy Pants. A pair of Fancy Pants under the Pinny looks adorable .
Fancy Pants comes with four different finishing variations and two different embellishments. Plenty of inspiration to make a truly unique pair of pants. They are also super comfortable and look stunning when made from a soft linen. Will definitely be a long-time favourite.
Find out more about Fancy Pants on the website and be sure to check out the slide show gallery pics at the bottom of the page too.
A big thanks to Chelsea and her brilliant photography and perfect little girls for such great photos!
