.The Best Me Challenge – week 1.

I stumbled across this blog a few days ago and read about a cool (achievable) weekly challenge the author has going. I always see these challenges and think I would love to do have a go but it just never happens, so I didn’t think about this one…just started! The cool thing about this challenge is that you can do it however you want to…so some weeks I might feel like scrapbooking, other weeks I might write or draw.

So, the first prompt was about lists, anyone who knows me well will know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE lists! The first thing I do when I get up in the morning (If I haven’t already done it the night before) is write a list of things I would like to do that day! I have lists for dinner ideas, lists of things to buy, books to read, things to make, things to blog about (hehe), things to buy people for presents, they go on and on and on! But they are what keep me going, if I don’t have a list written then I can’t seem to accomplish anything for the day. I have learned over time to try and keep my lists achievable so that I don’t get discouraged when things don’t get accomplished. I’m getting better…

I wanted to keep the challenge quick and simple so that it wouldn’t become a burden every week so this week I wrote a list of 5 things that I could (and did) achieve for the week…feels good when you get them all ticked off!
P.S. If this challenge sounds fun to you, do it with me…

.Lets Play Ball.

All Jaron wanted for Christmas was a basketball ring. When Mum and Dad moved house a couple of years ago they took down their basketball ring and have since had no where to use it at their new house, so Jaron became the lucky recipient of it. He gave it a bit of a face lift and after a few hours of work he and Dad finally got it erected in our back yard.

.A Jolly Jumping Girl.

Got the jolly jumper out for Lil and she loved bobbing around in it! We can’t believe how much she has grown up in the last week or so, she is starting to try and sit up and is awake for longer periods of time (oh joy!). Her looks are changing again too, still lovely and chubby, but her facial expressions are changing. Oscar can make her laugh now too, much to his delight – he tells her as she giggles, “Wills, you are crazy!”

.just be.

What is it about being at the beach that makes you feel so good?! I took the kids to the beach for lunch and a play today and we came home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The last two days have been warm enough for me to go swimming – like right in! It felt so good, whenever I go swimming in the ocean I get this overwhelming sense of connection. Connection with myself and those around me, connection with nature, and as the water rolls around me I feel as if I am connected with every part of the world. Isn’t it amazing that the water I am standing in has traveled around the world? Anyway, I’m rambling on. There was no swimming today, we ate our lunch and I read my magazine while Oscar played in the sand and chased the crabs. Oscar was drawing in the sand and asked me to come and draw with him, so I did. He saw that I was writing something and started scribbling some little characters then ran over to me exclaiming, “Mum, five and six!” pointing to his writing! So cute.

.precious.

Oscar and Lil are getting so big and cute! Oscar especially is very precious with Lil, he will go up to her during the day without any prompting from anyone and plant a big kiss on her cheek and say “hi wills”. He is also very good at sharing his toys with her and giving Lil her dummy when she is grizzly.
I told Oscar to give Lil a kiss in these photos and after telling him about three times he looks at me and goes “Ocsa kiss Wills LAST time!” It was so funny!
