Make It Perfect

.all over red rover.

After 8 long (but fun) years of Jaron’s university study we can excitedly say that today it is finally OVER! Yay – this feels soo good…so good to know that there will be no more assignments, no more lectures, no more models, no more crazy computer work, no more stressful deadlines!

Jaron had his final presentation this afternoon and it went splendidly well. Apparently anxious wives don’t make for good university presentation audiences so I wasn’t permitted to attend, I would have liked to, but Spotlight was fun enough to keep me entertained!

This is Jaron’s final presentation display…
and outside the School of Architecture – for the last time!

HIP HIP HORRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaron has gone to Melbourne tonight to pick up a new car…if only it were me…on a little trip all by myself! So our home is Daddy-less until Saturday morning. Best go…dirty babies to bath!

.Recipe Monday.

Licorice Allsort Slice

125g butter, chopped
2/3c condensed milk
1Tbs golden syrup
250g pkt plain sweet biscuits, crushed
1/2c desiccated coconut
375g pkt licorice allsorts, coarsely chopped
200g dark cooking chocolate, chopped
30g copha

Line base and sides on lamington pan with non-stick baking paper.
Combine butter, condensed milk and golden syrup in a medium saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring for 5 minutes, or until butter melts and mixture is smooth. Transfer to a large heatproof bowl. Add the biscuits, coconut and licorice allsorts and stir until just combined. Press the mixture into the base of the prepared pan and set aside for 30 minutes to set.
Place the chocolate and copha in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan half-filled with simmering water. Use a metal spoon to stir over low heat until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Pour the chocolate mixture over the slice in the pan. Place in the fridge for 1 hour to set. Cut into squares to serve.

.For Whitney.

My lovely sister-n-law Whitney turned 18 yesterday – big girl now! We love Whit, she is always so happy and lots of fun and makes us laugh a lot. Happy Birthday Whittles.
We CAN’T WAIT for her to come and visit us in 4 weeks!
For her birthday, I made her this bag…used my trusty Amy Butler nappy bag pattern, but made it a little smaller for her.

.some soap.

for carli and marnie…
my one and only craft fair purchase:seriously, not much craft fair info to blog about. its the same every year and every year i say i won’t bother going for a few years and i always end up there again! it’s a nice day out, but i’m a stinge when it comes to other people’s handmade goods…i look at it and think “i can make that myself for half the price!” not good, i should probably support the handmade industry a bit more than i do!
the soap smells delicious, i don’t think i will be able to bring myself to use it for awhile so i can keep smelling it – i love anything minty. oh, and aunty deidre did shout me lunch – got a yummy lamb gypsy roll and a hot chocolate from anvers.

.the first burn.

Spent 4 hours walking around outside today and it was finally a warm, sunny day. Boy did I feel i, after pushing the pram around the craft fair walking the whole of Deloraine (well, not really, but it felt like it!) I was left sweaty, tired and sunburned. But it was good exercise and better than driving any day. Best thing about the whole day?…the kids were PERFECT so I could enjoy the stalls and have a fun day out.
