Busy Week

I have been a slack blogger this week. We have had busy week having lunch with friends, going to playgroups, doing a bit of shopping and hanging out with Fil.

We found out about two cool things for Oscar to do this week. On Thursdays the Child Health Association holds a Playgym for kids from birth – 5 years. It was fantastic. There were so many fun things for Oscar to do and heaps of kids for him to play with. Great for me too because he got really really tired and had a super long sleep in the afternoon!! His favourite things were the basketball ring, cool cars and mini trampolines. On Friday we went to a playgroup at the primary school down the road. That was lots of fun too with heaps of toys and paints, playdough, stories and friends to play with.
Little miss clean and fresh after a shower…she loves showers with Daddy and Oscar!
Oscar’s new trick this week is sticking his finger up his nose…he loves the reaction he gets – “disgusting!”

Lil’s new trick this week is lifting her head up while lying on her tummy. Very clever little baby!

Lil gets Blessed

On Sunday we were privileged to have Lil blessed. Jaron gave her a beautiful blessing and she was so quiet during it. It was also nice for Jaron as Sunday was Fathers Day. Dad and Pop Triffitt assisted him we wish that Grandie Coward and Grandad Parsons and Lil’s uncles were able to be here too, but we know that distance makes things difficult.
Lil with Great Nan and Pop Triffitt…she is great-grandchild number 45!!! I think that is right…somewhere in the 40’s anyway! Can you imagine ever having 45 great-grandchildren and still being around to see them all – these two are amazing!
We have come to the conclusion that without professional help it is impossible to get a decent Triffitt family photo! Notice Cade leaving a spot for Ty in the back!
What a sweet little dress!!!

Fathers Day for the best Daddy ever!

Fathers Day for Jaron began with Oscar showering him with a custom made Dad’s Bag full of lots of yummy treats and a new CD. Oscar was very cute “helping” Jaron check out what was in the bag…of course he had to help Dad share his lollies!
Then off to church where Jaron was able to bless baby Lil followed by an afternoon spent at Mum and Dad’s with lots of delicious food…prawns, pork ribs, vegies, lemon meringue pie, custard tarts and strawberries – YUM!
Jaron is the best Dad in the whole world – I could never ask for more for my children. He always has so much time for them and loves to play with them, give them baths and lots of kisses and cuddles.

Recipe Monday

These cookies are a variation of a recipe my friend Marnie gave me…this is actually the recipe halved – the original recipe makes over 100 cookies! This recipe made 50.

Smartie Cookies
250g butter
3/4 cup caster sugar
1/2 can condensed milk
2 1/2 cups SR flour
1 block Cadbury dairy milk chocolate
1 bag smarties

Cream butter, sugar and condensed milk until light and creamy.
Cut up chocolate block into small pieces. (I cut each square of chocolate into 6).
Add flour and chocolate pieces to butter mixture, beat with mixer or stir with spoon until well combined.
Place spoonfuls of mixture onto lined baking tray. Place 3 smarties onto the top of each biscuit.
Cook in moderate oven 12-14 minutes.
**hint – 1 can condensed milk equals 300ml***

Can you believe she is 4 weeks old??

This is Lil today at 4 weeks…she is an absolute angel. Loves her sleeps, gives us beautiful smiles and has such a placid nature. I wish she would stop growing so that we can enjoy the little baby Lil for longer but she is getting more and more adorable every day.
Oscar loves his little sister…this is him giving her a cuddle (after rolling her onto her tummy so that he could pat her back!).
