Make It Perfect, Slumber Party Jammies

.BIG Slumber Party Jammies + NEW BOY FABRIC!.

Thanks for your lovely Slumber Party Jammies comments – glad to hear that many of you can start sewing for your older children now!
Just wanted to share a pair of size 10 jammies I made up as a tester…unfortunately I don’t have a 10 year old model, so you’ll just have to use your imagination!

The fabric that I used for the main part of the jammies was sent to me by Kathryn, an Aussie fabric distributor who has just released her first range of fabric – “Little Monsters”.  After dealing with many fabric stores, Kathryn and her husband became more aware of the scarcity of decent prints to use for boys and decided to fill the gap themselves!

They have done a super job – the fabric is great…very boyish and not babyish at all, making it perfect for sewing for older kids.
Little Monsters comes in the two colourways shown below and I’m really looking forward to sewing more from it.

If you’re wondering where you can purchase Little Monsters…a quick google search pointed me in the direction of these stores:
Fabric Fusion
Funky Fabric
The Oz Material Girls
Inspire Fabrics
Crafty Mamas

.BIG Slumber Party Jammies.

As promised, I am slowly working my way through my patterns and adding extra size ranges for those of you who want to sew for bigger kids.
Now you can sew your Slumber Party Jammies for ages 6 years – 10 years!

Slumber Party Jammies are one of my favourite patterns to sew.  I love how quick and easy they are, yet still provide a quality finished product.  They are fast enough to sew up for a birthday gift for a child and a great way to use up that special novelty fabric.

Just a quick reminder about how up-sizing my patterns works…

The old/original Slumber Party Jammies pattern remains the same, but will now be called LITTLE Slumber Party Jammies – with sizes for 6 months-5 years.

The new pattern, BIG Slumber Party Jammies is EXACTLY the same design, only the size range for this pattern is 6-10 years.

You can find out fabric requirements for Big Slumber Party Jammies on the website. If you have a store and want to stock this or any other Make It Perfect patterns, contact Creative Abundance to place an order.
If you would like to purchase a copy of Big Slumber Party Jammies for yourself, they should be popping up in retail stores very soon. Ask your favourite store to get one in for you!
I’m giving away a copy of Big Slumber Party Jammies to one lucky reader – leave a comment on this post to be in the running!
(Giveaway will close Sunday 6th March and winner will be drawn via a random number generator.)

.On my birthday…

…Oscar woke up in the morning with a “great idea”.
“Mum, we should go to the IGA and choose some lollies and then you can make some cupcakes and leave them on the bench for Lil and I to decorate.  But you have to go away, because it will be a surprise.”

And it was a great idea!  Their cupcake decorating skills were out of this world amazing!  (Photos taken on my iphone because Jaron stole my camera for work – the nerve!)

After cupcake decorating, we spent the afternoon at the pool and then a quick singing of Happy Birthday before Jaron and I went out for a yummy, child-free dinner.

Thankyou, family for making 29 not so bad…you are really going to have to pull out the big guns for the big 3-0 though!!

.Auction Showcase.

So, a few things before I share some of the auctions and raffles that are being run now…
Um – THANKYOU all for pitching in and making these auctions awesome.  Seriously, when Carli and I decided to start this last week, we thought we might get 30 auctions and raise $1000 if we were lucky…but this is out of control C.R.A.Z.Y.  Really, it is fantastic, we are so excited about tallying up all of the final bid and raffle amounts and announcing a grand total.  What started with two sisters chatting one evening has turned into a massive global effort – we have women from the UK, New Zealand, the USA, Europe and of course Australia joining us.
What an awesome achievement for each of us to be able to do something to help from afar.  Particularly those of you who are stay at home Mums and not able to do much of a physical nature to help out with your little ones to care for.
But is hasn’t ended yet!  Auctions will be opened until next Monday 24th January (Aussie time) so still plenty of time to place bids and purchase raffle tickets.  Remember, we are not looking for a bargain here – dig deep and give generously!
Please continue to spread the word – link the Master List to your blog and Facebook page…send out emails to your address book…tell everyone you know!  People won’t find out about the auctions unless we let them know.  We sent out emails to some of our favourite big bloggers and are so grateful for the support they have shown by announcing the Auctions to their readers – thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
Remember we will be adding to the Master List every morning at 9am as long as we have new submissions.  Keep checking back every day to check out new auctions and raffles.
Oh, and my awesome cousin Lisa has been working around the clock (literally) to create Facebook albums with pictures of every single auction to make viewing easier for you.  How cool is she?!!!  She is almost finished and the albums look great.  They are an easy way to get a quick overview of the items in each category.  You can find the link to each auction underneath the picture.   You can view all of the albums here.
Virginia has also started a Flickr group for all auction items – feel free to add your auction pics to it!  Thanks Virginia 🙂
And finally, quick note about bidding for items on Facebook – you can’t leave a comment until you “Like” the individual’s Facebook page.

.Queensland Flood Relief Raffle – Citrus pOp.

With my auction bids rising, I realise that there are many people who would like to be able to contribute, who may not be able to afford high bid amounts.
(Auctions are here, here and here.)

I love the idea of a raffle, which works exactly like a giveaway, except you have to “purchase a ticket” by donating money to the Premier’s Flood Relieve Appeal in order to leave a comment.

The winner of this raffle will receive a $50 voucher to spend at my Citrus pOp store either on Made It or Etsy.

How this raffle will work:
1.  To enter this raffle, you must donate $5 to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.
2.  You may enter as many times as you like, but each entry/donation must have a seperate receipt number. (i.e. if you want to enter 3 times, then you must donate $5, three times so that you end up with three receipt numbers.)
3.  After you have made your donation, come back and leave a comment with your receipt number.  Please be sure to leave your email address also.
4.  This raffle is open to everyone.  Postage is FREE wherever you live.
5.  The raffle begins NOW and will END at midday on Wednesday 26th January 2011.
6.  At the close of the raffle, I will randomly select one comment to win the $50 voucher.
7.  Thankyou for participating and good luck!
