Can I make and sell items from Make It Perfect patterns?
I am more than happy for you to make and sell from my patterns, providing it doesn’t turn into a large-scale production and that a tag is attached to each garment stating that it was made to sell with permission from a Make It Perfect pattern. If you do decide to take your venture large-scale, please let me know as I do offer “Permission Packs” (including a sew-in fabric tag and cardboard labels) available for purchase for $5 per garment sewn to sell.
Is there a seam allowance included on pattern templates?
Yes, all pattern templates include a 1.2cm (1/2”) seam allowance unless otherwise stated within the pattern.
How do PDF patterns work?
When you purchase a pattern and pay for it via Paypal (or your credit card through Paypal), you will receive an email containing a link for you to download the pattern straight to your computer. If you make an eCheck payment, your pattern will be delivered once the payment clears (5-7 days).
Your pattern will be sent to the email address associated with your Paypal account. Please check your junk mail folder if you have not received it in a few minutes.
PDF patterns are formatted on A4 (8.3” x 11.7”) paper. Full-size pattern templates are included with easy to follow instructions for joining pages to create pattern pieces. No enlarging or altering the pattern templates is needed. A black & white printer is suitable for printing your pattern on.
It is your responsibility to download and save the PDF pattern to your computer. We are not able to provide new download links for lost or accidentally deleted files. It is very important that you open your pattern, click “save as” and save the file to your computer as soon as you have downloaded the pattern.
Please make your selection carefully as there are strictly no refunds or exchanges on PDF patterns. All sales are final.
Why aren’t all Make It Perfect patterns offered in PDF instant download format?
PDF patterns are a new addition to the Make It Perfect product line. As new patterns are released, they will automatically be added to the instant download collection. Older patterns are being re-formatted all the time and will be added to the instant download collection as they are ready. To stay up to date with new PDF patterns please subscribe to our newsletter.
Do I need an overlocker to sew clothing?
No, you do not need an overlocker (serger) to sew clothing. Ideally, it does give the best finish to the raw edge of a garment, but you get just as good results using your sewing machine and a zig-zag stitch on the raw edge. Many sewing machines offer mock-overlocker stitches so take a look through your sewing machine manual to see what your machine can do – you might be surprised!
What kind of sewing machines do you use?
My sewing machine is a “Pfaff Ambition 1.5” and my overlocker is a “Babylock Imagine” – I love them both! If you are new to sewing and don’t want to spend a great amount of money on your sewing machine though, I have used Brother sewing machines in the past and been really happy with them.
