One down…

The final year of uni…can’t wait until October and Jaron’s 8 long years of studying are FINALLY over! This semester finishes in a couple of weeks, so a big presentation for him today and then another one in a week or two and then a few weeks of holidays which will be nice! This is his pin-up for his assignment and presentation today. Good luck!

Another quilt finished!

Just wanted to post some photos of a quilt that I started AGES ago – like maybe a year…and have finally gotten around to finishing off!
It goes with the cushions on our couch and was nice and quick and easy to make. Jaron thinks it looks like an old Maori woman’s lava-lava!

This sucks!

…in a really good way! On the weekend we got a new vacuum cleaner! Out of all of my household chores vacuuming is my very least favourite, but not so anymore! Our old vacuum was just a cheapy but had been going for about 3 years. For the last 6 months the head has been falling off so I have been battling trying to vacuum the floors and keep this head on with my foot at the same time – not fun! No wonder I hated vacuuming so much! But with our new Dyson (which is guaranteed to NEVER loose suction) vacuuming is much more fun…still not my favourite chore…I would rather wash the clothes any day, but it is moving up on the household chore ranking!
While we were at the shop we noticed some little baby Dysons for kids, Jaron asked the man how much they were and how he remembered them being advertised for free a little while ago when you purchased a vacuum (he is such a schemer!), Oscar must have charmed the man at the shop because he said, “I think I have one out the back, let me go and have a look” and he came out with a little free vacuum for Oscar. It has solved one of my problems of Oscar always wanting to ride the vacuum and turn it on and off as I try to get around the house, now he has one of his own to play with!

Recipe Monday

This is an easy peasy playdough recipe – requires NO cooking or messy clean u!p!

PLAY DOUGH
4c plain flour
1c salt
4T cream of tarter
1T oil
4c boiling water
1-2t food colouring

Combine flour, salt and cream of tarter in a large bowl. Slowly mix in oil, boiling water and food colouring. Stir continuously until mixture thickens and forms a ball. Keep in snaplock bag to prevent drying out.

This makes a pretty big batch so sometimes I halve it if I don’t want so much.

“Cuggle”

Oscar stops me a few times during the day asking for a “cuggle”. He loves me to sit down and then he pulls up my top to see my tummy – has to be flesh, and kisses and cuddles “baby”. It is so very cute, I hope he is going to be as affectionate and caring towards the baby when it is born!

On the odd occasion the baby does get a swipe, and sometimes even a mash with the potato masher!
