My brother the superhero…

Cade is a superhero…not only did he make it into the East Devonport seniors team on the weekend (he is only 16 after all) he also played a spectacular game AND managed to land himself the Best on Field title for the game – being paid a whopping $100 for a game of flamin’ football – more than he would make working at Woolworths for a day!!!

On top of all of that he also appeared in the Sunday and Monday newspapers, action shots with his shaggy blonde hair flying all over the place!

Good form Cade, good form.

This little boy turns 18 months old…

Oscar turned 18 months yesterday – another half-birthday. There was an easter riverbank festival in Deloraine yesterday so we took him down, he had so much fun – there were ball pits and jumping castles, face painting, balloons, animals and plenty to see and do…the best part for us was that everything was FREE!! So, that was his “half-birthday celebration!

This morning Easter Bunny came to our house – after weetbix of course! Oscar was beside himself with excitement getting chocolate so early in the morning! He just had a little bit and then we put the rest away for later on, he ended up getting heaps more at church from his friends and teachers so we have a nice stash in the cupboard now!

Some early morning easter photos and a couple of Oscar ready for church – he is such a big boy now, all of a sudden in the last couple of weeks he just knows so much and does so much more, trying to count everything and understands instructions and commands (working on “get Mummy a nappy and the wipes” for the new baby!). Every day he says new words and copies things that we do.

HAPPY EASTER

My favourite thing about easter as a child….
A visit from Easter Bunny EVERY day from Friday until Monday!
Except for the year when Mum went to Sydney for easter and Dad “accidentally” ate all of the easter eggs for the weekend and we woke up to 1 small egg each on Sunday morning!

Ironing Board Cover

An ironing board cover has been on my list of things to buy for many months now…I have been looking and looking, but am determined to have one that I really like and can only find festy, yucky covers that would make me not want to iron ever! So I decided that making my own cover really couldn’t be that difficult – and it wasn’t! WAY cheaper than buying a brand new one too! I bought a new felt pad for under the cover and basically took off my old cover, cut the new one to the same size, overlocked around the edge, threaded some string through the overlocking, sat it on the ironing board, pulled the threads tight and hey presto! Here it is…
